The longtime running experimental, improv and adventurous leaning Wayward Music Series invited Geist & the Sacred Ensemble to play at the historic Chapel Performance Space. Built in 1906 on the traditional homeland of the Duwamish people, the Chapel Performance Space is on the fourth floor of the Good Shepherd Center, located in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. They took this opportunity to prepare a set of improvisation and song with the intention to utilize the acoustics of the space. Resulting in a rare performance featuring instruments new to the Ensemble’s live improv palette; piano, harmonium, cello along with an array of percussion from timpani to metal chains, vibrant vocals, and guitar drone.
Knowing this would be a special night they enlisted the talents of Erik Johnson Films to capture the night on video. Anyone can watch the full concert film by subscribing to the ensemble's SPIRIT/MIND/GHOST newsletter or with purchase of the digital album.
